 MEDIA TECHNOLOGY maintains a large inventory of various grades and thicknesses of materials for Folding Cartons and other packaging items. Our in-house sheeting facilitates cost-effective materials and fast response for folding cartons and other types of retail packaging. Most of our products are produced from paperboard. Paperboard is a generic name for thicker paper stocks, thicker than copy paper, newspapers, and stationery. The extra thickness provides the strength and stiffness required to package products for shipping, storing, and displaying. Slip sheets and dividers can normally be shipped within 24 hours.
CHIPBOARD is made from recycled materials and is thicker and more dense that everyday papers we use such as copy paper or writing paper. Chipboard is often used as the heavy backer on a pad of paper such as a memo/scratch pad. It is used for slipsheets and divider pads, and separators. Chipboard is a good substance for printing and die cutting into folding cartons. A good example of a chipboard carton is a cereal box.
SBS(Solid Bleached Sulphate)is a white sheet made from mostly new virgin fibers. A clay based coating is applied to one or both sides when brilliant color graphics printing is required for folding cartons or other retail packaging. SBS is used for health and beauty aids, food, software, cosmetics, counter displays, and other retail applications that need to attract attention.
Claycote (Clay Coated News Back CCNB)is made from recycled newspapers. A smooth, printable clay coating is applied to the top of the gray layered sheet. Claycote is one of the less expensive materials and used when the package graphics are not as critical. This material is used for folding cartons that do not require as much package strength.
The company also produces wide format Engineering Rolls for outputting CAD drawings, maps, point of purchase displays, and graphics. These rolls are converted with the same strict quality standards as the large jumbo rolls. The wide format rolls are produced with premium high opacity, 87 brightness xerographic papers. Monochrome and color inkjet rolls and sheets are available.
