SBS (Solid Bleached Sulfate) is produced from bleached virgin wood pulp and is a premium grade of paperboard. Most of the time, a clay-based coating is applied to one or both sides when brilliant color graphics printing is required for folding cartons or other retail packaging. SBS is often used as a moisture barrier for food packaging as well as packaging aroma and flavor sensitive products.
